White Fillings

White fillings restore the function of teeth affected by decay or trauma, and can also be used cosmetically for bonding treatments. We've been using composite (white) materials for over 20 years, and most patients prefer them to silver fillings for both look and function.

After we prepare your tooth, the white filling material is placed in thin layers and set with a special light so it's hard and durable against normal biting forces. The tooth is then shaped and polished for a smooth finish that bites correctly against the opposing teeth.

White fillings are also used to build up damaged teeth before crowns, bridges and other restorations.

Beyond looking natural, white filling material bonds directly to the remaining tooth structure, reducing breakage and insulating the tooth from temperature changes.
